The Adventures of the Traveling Vintage Dress

Aloha Poodles!

When Joanna of Dividing Vintage Moments, wrote a post asking if anyone would like to participate in a Sisterhood of the Traveling Dress, I responded with an enthusiastic yes, please!

And by enthusiastic I mean that I jumped up and down, waved my arms, and said "Me, Me, pick MEEEEE!!!"

Of course Joanna couldn't see that, which is probably for the best. Who wants to send their treasured vintage possessions off to a crazy person?!

So the Sisterhood of the Traveling Vintage Dress began, and I couldn't wait for my turn!

Fortuitously, the dress arrived the day before I left for Hawaii. Yay!!! And I brought her along for some adventures.  (Yes, her.)

Isn't this print pretty?? It reminds me of little shells.
I was excited to accessorize the dress with my personal style!
This vintage banana pin and earrings set originated in Hawaii.
Their first owner was given them by her husband on their honeymoon.
I had to bring them with me!
Our first stop of the day was the Iolani Palace. The palace interior has been fully restored, and is magnificent. I enjoyed the tour immensely.

We had to stop by this famous statue of King Kamehameha!
If only for my sister to say, "Book 'em Danno!" Haha!
Next we were off to visit the Byodo-In Temple. Built in 1968 to commemorate the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii, the site is a smaller scale replica of the 950 year old Byodo-In Temple located in Uji, Japan.

Stunning scenery!
There were two beautiful black swans on the property!
I have never seen so many koi in one place, at one time!

Glorious hibiscus!

On our drive back to Honolulu, we stopped at breathtaking Lanikai Beach.

Lanikai is consistently rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world!
The white sand is like baby powder.
Sooo soft!!!
One more selfie before we go! ;)
The dress is now off, bound for more adventures! I am so grateful to have been a part of this fabulous experience.

    1. Hi!! Thank you! When I read about the temple, I knew it was exactly where I wanted to take pictures. It was so very beautiful there. Thankfully my sister obligingly and patiently played photographer for me. I am the worst at taking pictures! ;)
